RIP Ken Ober (from MTV's remote control)
ADVERTS 1
Ken Ober who hosted MTV's "Remote Control" died over the weekend

He was 52
Not a Hoax: Ken Ober, MTV's 'Remote Control' Host, Dies at 52 - Yahoo! TV Blog
To legions of Gen-Xers, though, he'll be remembered as the host of "Remote Control," the TV-obsessed game show that aired on MTV from 1987-'89 and featured such categories as "Brady Physics" and "Dead or Canadian." It also helped introduce Adam Sandler to the world; he worked as a writer on the show (as did Denis Leary), and he played the recurring on-screen characters Trivia Delinquent and Stud Boy.
Back when MTV played Videos (remember that???) this was the ONLY non music item on there. The show friggin ruled! Have many shows on tape still (havent recorded them to DVD)
He was also in Blues Traveler song "hook"

Ken was a good guy, I met him a number of times, and for awhile lived in West Hartford, Connecticut.
I liked Remote Control and honestly wish they showed old episodes from time to time.
I was a MTV Junkie in the 80's and Early / Mid 90's.Scott

RIP. I was a Remote Control junk too. Maybe now they will show some re-runs.
Try this if you like to see the show.
Some people have to much time on their hands.

Wow, Very strange. He didn't go to the doctor with all the fear of Swine Flu? MTV was fun back when Remote Control was on.
