CNN.COM in the toilet?

Anyone else notice that lately, especially since they redesigned their site, CNN.COM has gone downhill? Seems to load longer, has several links on their main page that are 404, and more and more real estate is taken up by reader comments, which tend to be childish and partisan.
Or is it just me?
Any recommendations for an alternative? Not keen on MSNBC or Yahoo.Reunite Pangaea!

The overhaul was LONG overdue, though nothing original. The few times I went there I kept thinking, "This is a major media website?'. Loads are OK here. The comments are becoming SOP on a slew of sites.
