    Smoking Vegas

    ADVERTS 1
Each year we have some discussion about the annual pilgrimage to Vegas, and which hotel to stay at.

Today's Washington Post has an article stating that Vegas hotel rooms smell of cigarette smoke, even the non-smoking ones. It comes in thru the vents and is quite annoying.

Has that been the experience of any members here? If it is in fact a problem, any way of avoiding it?

A lot of the hotels have non smoking floors. To be honest, I haven't noticed it when we stay in Vegas. There is a LOT of smoke smell on the casino floors though. If you hang around too long, it makes your clothes stink!

I stayed at the Tropicana on a no smoking floor and could smell a hint of smoke but they are remodeling so that might help (I noticed years ago at the Flamingo smoke traveled up the Elevator shafts when staying in rooms above the casino)...

If you're staying at an older property everything will probably smell of smoke. The newer ones all have extensive air filtration systems, but they actually have developed trademark scents that they spray throughout the property which may be more irritating if you have a really sensitive nose.

Smoking is prohibited in most indoor public areas in Las Vegas except for casinos and bars that do not serve food.

Thanks to all. I'll take that article as another example of the WP's (lack of) journalistic excellence.

I'm just stunned at how rapidly they have declined. Seems there's not only a lack of talent, but no editing. Way too many spelling and grammatical errors, and even factual errors.. I commented to my boss that I figured the print edition would be gone by 2015. He figures 2012.
