    How to-Connect Sling Box to a VIP622

    ADVERTS
I use my 622 in single mode and wish to connect the sling box to it. Also, because I have my 921 set to remote 1 The installer set the 622 to remote 5 address.
I discovered that TV coax out doesn't tune to ch 234 and this is what the sling box expects to see. I tried dual mode but could not get that to work either. Back to single mode and I did get picture on the sling box with CV, audio but still can't control the sling box. The closest reference to the VIP622 was the HD622.

The 921 works OK but I have to manually switch to SD and then be sure to pull the DVI cable out or it will auto switch back to HD. I was hopinng this would all be corrected on the 622

Change your remote on the 921 to something other than 1 and set the TV1 IR code on the 622 to "1". It will ONLY work on 1.

StevenD That's what I thought on the remote. sigh... That will require a complete reprogramming of my entire remote system. But after the job of doing that, it should work. I have a remote that is programmed on a laptop- The Home theater Master MX800.

Goaliebob- I tried that and did get the video to work but then that used up my only selected AV input. I also want to use the HDTivo on that input.

I'm thinking that to get it to work the way I want RF coax from the 622 to the sling box, I'll need to do the remote reprogramming and also add an AV in to RF out modulator ch 3 to the back of the 622. I think that is my solution.

Currently I have the sling working on both the HDTIVO and the 921 (remote ch 1) for my next trip so when I get back, I'll connect an RF modulator and reprogram the system. That takes about 2 hours.

Maybe someone else has a solution but I didn't expect the 622 could not output on the traditional ch 3 or 4 from the RF coax out. IT's funny because the sling is set up to receive on the 622 on channel 2, 3 or 4 Maybe they fixed that in a newer release of the software. I'll check that out as well.
    Don
