TiVo DVR versus Comcast DVR ADVERTS 1
Here's my take thus far - please share your insights with me.
COST:
-------
A. About the same monthly charges; TiVo service plus Comcast cable card roughly equals the Comcast DVR charge.
B. TiVo has an additional up-front charge of about $300 for their DVR, and a charge from the cable company to install a cable card in the TiVo DVR.
PERFORMANCE:
-----------------
1. Both TiVo and Comcast DVRs display the exact same channels.
2. Quality of the TiVo DVR picture quality may be higher (myth?).
3. Quality of the TiVo user interface (channel guide, programming procedure) is better/easier.
4. As a Netflix subscriber, I can use TiVo to stream movies from Netflix, but cannot with Comcast DVR.
5. I can use either the TiVo or the Comcast DVR's with my existing analog (tube) TV or my imaginary new digital TV.
Additions or corrections, anyone?
Thanks,
Teffy

THe biggest of all - You cannot use the Video On Demand with TIVO, a HUGE loss.
