I realize all that I would just like to know which channels I'm gonna lose before I start buying more filters at $40-$50 a pop. If one of my favorite digital channels winds up in the filter range it's gonna be a waste of money.

If you have a set-top box, search the web to find out if it has a diagnostic mode. But that doesn't mean the cable company won't change the channel assignments later.

You should look at your analog lifeline and see if there are some successively numbered junk channels, like City Counsel, School Board, C-Span, Spanish, shopping, etc., that you could wipe out. These assignments are more stable because they are relied upon by the user for finding them.

AntAltMike - did you ever get this diplex of HDTV and Comcast internet working? I have a similar problem myself as just bought a house with only one coax run coming from outside to the closet where the home theater and network equipment sit. I am a cable cutter so don't want CATV - happy to just use Comcast internet + HDTV. Problem is that I don't think I can easily do another run of coax cable so would ideally just put both signals on the same wire.
