Vista 64 sp2 and FireFox
ADVERTS 1
I recently put FireFox on my wife Carols Laptop. It has Windows xp sp 3 for the OS. It really sped things up on it. She is real happy with the change from IE 8. I was so impressed with the difference it made I installed FireFox on this desktop however I really haven't seen much of an improvement in speed. The OS is Vista64 sp2. Any comments or suggestions? One thing I really do like is the ad blocker.

FF over IE8 is a real speed improver AFTER the application loads. On my XP 32 bit and Vista 64 bit computers FF is slow to launch but once up it loads web pages much faster.
Come to think of it, I noticed the same thing comparing Opera on my WM TP2 with IE.
IE must be really bloated to run so slow but it does seem to launch faster than the others.Join SatelliteGuys on the Home Theater Cruise, November 25-Dec 2. Cabin reservations fill up fast so don't delay!

I run it on my Quad Core Vista 64 as well as this laptop and my older XP machine in the HT room... I'm forced to use IE at work on a Dual Core XP machine and can't wait to get back to firefox...
