T3 time-out

Hello,

For the last several weeks, my high-speed internet connection has been unreliable. The connection would drop and then the cable modem would reset and connect again. The problem is worse when requiring high bandwidth (online gaming, Netflix streaming movies, etc.).

I contacted Cox and Tech Support said it was the modem. I picked up a new modem at the Cox store. Problem still continues.
I contacted Cox again, Tech Support said it was the router. Plugged PC directly into cable modem (bypassing router). Problem still continues.
I contacted Cox again, Tech came over. Checked indoor lines. Everything looks good. Replaced outdoor box. Problem still continues.
I contacted Cox again, Tech elevates my issue to Tier 2. Research online says problem is something in the neighborhood. Bad node. Bad line amplifier. Hardline Dist. Plant problem.

This is very frustrating. Any suggestions?

Have you asked any of your neighbors if they have the same issue? If it's a node, they should be able to narrow it down to which one if you can find others with/without the same problem.

What modem did you pick up?

Usually a T3 timeout is due to a noise issue in the cable.
