H21 appears hung in self-check after D/L 441c. Rebooted after 15 minute wait. Now trying to re-download.

well I watched it all the way. it gets the entire D/L and does its reboot. then hangs at the self-test; going on another 15 mins

Would never come out of self-test. I am now trying to force a D/L of the current national to see if my unit comes back to life.

Well, well, well...... I got this bit of trickery to try and IT WORKED. So I am posting it for the rest of you guys just in case.
Hit the red reset button on the front of the box.
Before the "Welcome, your DirecTV..." comes on the screen hurry up and press MENU and DOWN on the front panel of the receiver simultaneously and HOLD..
KEEP HOLDING both until you see step 1 of 2 as this will bypass the self-test and the receiver should begin working as normal.
