Can someone explain what the second number in each model number means?

    For example: H25-700

My receiver is H25-100 what is the difference between that and the 700?

Different manufacturer. To you the end user, there is no difference. It's only different under the hood, and only meaningful to the programmers writing the code for them.

Wow. It's early, but I'm seeing a HUGE improvement in MRV responsiveness on H25 to an HR34.

It takes time to pop in, may take several days to show up.
Once it shows up, you need to go to the website it tells you and give the code it gives you and you'll be up and running in a few minutes.

Updated HR24 and H25. For the first time ever after a CE update, I don't have to unplug/replug the HR24 to make whole home work on the H25. YAY
