This is from a poster over at DBSTalk, who is
suppose to have insider info:

HD Xtra Pack will be free for everyone until December 15th, at that time everyone will be billed (no grandfathering)

It is all of the non-simulcast HD channels that are not tied to an SD channel. HDNet, HDNet Movies, and Universal HD will be a part of the pack, along with MHD, Smithsonian HD, and MGM HD.

I bet Mark Cuban may yet have something to say about that.

Does anyone no the process directv used in determining which channels would go hd? I know they have agreements with the providers but puting the cartoon network in hd doesnt make sense. Why are they waiting till October to roll ouy FX, Sci-Fi and USA networks

So while Directv might be ready with contracts in place, Fx, Sci-Fi and others are not.

No its not that i dont watch cartoons, who doesnt? The last channel I think of when I think HD is the cartoon network. There is other channels I would like to see rolled out first

Hey Family Guy and Futurama are already in high def as far as I know. Why not on Cartoon Network?
