For all of those people out there say " most subs are not hd subs".

Could be truth in that but tv providers DO know where the money is.

IMO they have a huge window of opportunity to continue this trend against other providers now. If they can get the rest of the HD nationals online fairly quickly they will just keep drawing more from the other providers..

They've never given a percentage of HD. They have said that 40%+ of customers have "advanced products" meaning HD <or> DVR or both.

On the last call they said they expected that to grow to 50% in 2008.

This is because Dish network keeps screwing around and making bad decisions by thinking that they know what the consumers want. Congrats DirecTV for doing the right thing.

DISH should have a better Q too, estimates are around 125,000 net new subs.

And Dish has continued their competitive edge [said with complete sarcasm] by not adding the "rumored" new national HD today. DirectTV knows what they are doing and apparently Dish does not. Way to go Dish.

Dish is about to blow Directv out of the water anyways, so I wouldn't expect their profits to be up very much longer!
