You're right, Toledo is the only one not on that schedule. I'll try to get clarifiation on why.

For WCIU there's two strikes against that happening soon. The 1st is that D*'s not been very fast with adding more then the four major networks in HD. Heck, they still haven't started to rollout the PBS HD channels that they announced and agreement on over 8 months ago. The 2nd strike is that WCIU is owned by Weigel Broadcasting and it looks like they're playing hardball with DirecTV on HD retransmission rights. Weigel also owns the CBS station in Milwaukee and D* doesn't have that HD channel up while they have the other three HD local networks going.

If you want WCIU that bad you might want to just bite the bullet and get an OTA setup.

Don't know what they are thinking, you would think they would go by number of viewers, but I guess thats not the way they look at it.

As has been stated numerous times, the size of the DMA does not necessarily indicate the relative number of DirecTV subscribers. A smaller DMA may have a disproportionately high number of DirecTV subscribers specifically because of fewer options from cable. A more rural area will have a smaller concentration of viewers in total but is much less likely to have cable as an option to all of them.

Going after customers (current or potential) that are not served by cable is a good bet. These are also customers that are much less likely to bail for a triple play option.

That makes sense, Youngstown and Warren has a ton of smaller towns all around them, everytime you cross the street you are in a new zip code. Also, we have a ton of rural area's around us. The tech that put up my latest set up when I moved commented that this is one of the busiest areas he has worked and that they usually have to do six days a week to keep up with the demand....

2 newbie questions (im on a directv reconnaissance mission for my dad):

1) what does HD LIL stand for? (just my own curiosity)

2) my parents live in the Richmond, VA market, but live an hour away in Farmville... when the Richmond-Petersburg HD locals, will we definitely get them?

thanks, and i did some searching, so dont flame me too bad
