I doubt Directv will not come to an agreement with VS, they over pay for just about every other sports network just so they can say they are the leader in sports. Directv's entire business model is built around their sports packages, I seriously doubt they are going to let this agreement crash and burn.
If they do for some reason remove VS on September, I'll just call Directv and bitch that im missing some game and they will give me more money off my bill so I don't cancel.

I am an NHL & cycling fan. I emailed DTV that if they don't renew Vs reasonably soon I will change providers. I suggest that others who have the same interests email DTV with the same message. I have been a DTV sub since the beginning, but this would be a deal breaker for me.

Only the final season, seven, was shot in HD. The first six seasons were shot in SD, on video, 4x3. Showcase HD shows those framed properly. The seventh season, and last years special "Say Goodnight To The Badboys" was shot on film, in HD, 16x9. If DirecTV is showing the first six season "in HD" and "16x9", it's not how the show was shot. They must be stretching the frame, then.
Don't you look at me!

I read somewhere that Showcase aired them in SD and that they were all filmed in HD. Some of the comments were that people had wished the HD versions or at least 16x9 would have been released instead of just an SD DVD. Since I have only seen part of seasons five-seven I wasn't sure. I guess 1-6 must be stretched on 101 but it doesn't look bad. It already is supposed to have that handycam documentary feel so it isn't noticeably stretched like a TNT HD stretching of the SD feed.
As long as seven maintains 16x9 on the box set that would be fine. It doesn't have to be HD for such a show in my collection. It was more the OAR that concerned me if they were cropping it for the whole series.
Thanks for clearing up the details. I'll probably buy the set soon. It is cheap on Amazon.DirecTV. I had FIOS but moved and cannot get it again even though a house 200 feet away has it and my street is wired. As a movie lover I am unhappy with DirecTV's premium channels. FIOS had all 26 HBO/MAX channels in HD. DirecTV has 4.

This is a MAJOR DEAL breaker for me.. I will leave Dtv in a heart beat, if Dtv cuts VS's... It is the only place to watch Pro Cycling......
