5 LNB SWN Install question
ADVERTS 1
I mounted my 5 LNB SWM dish, 101 is at 97, and 119 is at 100% on my bridog. I check my receiver, I get signals on 101, 110, 119 and 99/103 on the (c) but the (s) is dead. But even the (c) signals are low. Tried to do the fine tuning accorning to a youtube video I found but didn't seem to work. What am I doing wrong?

Here's my signals on SWM, 99 and 103:
SWM:
97 97 0 97 97 85 85 85
85 - - - - - - -
103 (c)
68 44 56 36 67 44 55 39
68 47 60 44 69 51
103 (s)
0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
99 (s)
83 0 83 0 90 0 - -
- - - - - - 0 0
0 0 0 0 95 88 0 0
99 (c)
72 58 71 62 69 58 68 63
68 58 68 60 70 60
When I tried to activate it gave me red X on 99 and 103 and now I lost my authorization on 3 receivers

Those 99/103 signals spell trouble at the first sign of snow. Take it apart & start from scratch. Make sure your mount is plumb in both the vertical & lateral angles. Once confirmed, use the fine tune bolts as before & move them slowly. You obviously already checked for line of site issues?

Also the S signals are spot beams, so don't be to concerned with them. You are probably a bit low in elexvation.

I had that a few times, plumb was good, signal was good, i re-set the reciever and sometimes that works, OR i force DL the reciever and it solves the problems most times.

there are a lot of ways to get around the red x's.... the way that use to work for me is just to change the dish type from 5 lnb to 18x20 or 18'' and once it gets through the activation and program download you go back and change it... (of course this doesnt fix any problems you have created, but it get you out of that house that you have been forever)
if this doesnt work for you, you are just going to have to get it to pass the right way... the best thing that i tell all my trainies is to take a jumper from the dish staright to the ird, i just go though the window. if it passes you know that there is something wrong with the line. if it doesnt.... well work on you dithering skills....
have fun and be safe... ( dont fall off those roofs!!!!! )

I found instructions on how to fine tune this model dish. Mine was different than the youtube video. I checked the mast, it wasn't plumb, probably happened when I installed the two side arms. Anyway, it was plumb, set it and now 101 all tp are over 86, 110/119 inj the 90s, SWM was in the 90s and 99/103 is mostly in the 80, some 90's and 1 or 2 70s. Thanks for all your help!

if your 101 is mid 90's it's your tilt "or rotation" - did you use a regular SL5 lmb to peak?
