    Question directv router

    I am having problems getting on demand setup..the wireless router is Netgear 54 mbps WGR614..is it a ethernetbased or usb based..really new at this..thanks Robin

    it depends on how you hook it up.

    if you use a wirelles adapter that hooks up via USB or ethernet, i much prefer to use ethernet for ease of setup and reliability.

    best to use ethernet from HR2x to wireless adapter.

    make sure you have the same security settings/password on the wireless adapter that you have on the router. (i.e. WPA2 personal or whatever it is called... )

    I'm hooked up through ethernet to a wireless adapter. Works fine, but soooo slow. Is everyone else's slow as well?

    yes, DTV limits the b/w for each download. some HD movies take close to 24 hours, though i find that during the weekdays everything moves along much faster than trying to d/l one on weekends.

    I'm hooked up the same way as you are and YES it's VERY slow that way.
    I only have a 3 MG connection, I'm sure that doesn't help any either.

    This is ONE reason I rarely ever use the On Demand stuff.
