I think you need bigger dish and maybe out of the signal area.

singkwan2004 is right, you might be out of the signal area.I think you need bigger dish and maybe out of the signal area.
I've heard of ppl getting Directv in the Bahamas, Cuba, Turks and Caicos islands, Puerto Rico, etc, but you might be too far East, even if you had a bigger dish....

If the receiver has a current subscription, why not just try it?

Got this map from KVH.com
I haven't talked to anyone yet who has tried to get a KA signal outside of the footprint, but lots of ppl outside of the footprint have had success with the KU signal off the 101 sat ( Southern Mexico, Central America ) using larger dishes.
My uncles ex-father-in-law had a place in the Turks and Caicos islands, he got a signal off the 101 sat using a larger dish he bought here in the states, that is the furthest East in the Caribbean I have heard of getting a signal besides Puerto Rico.
sandycody you could try it, there used to be a website for aiming dishes outside of the U.S., but I can't find it now, good luck.Last edited by PMKS; 03-20-2010 at 04:01 PM. Reason: spelling
