Keep it for 10 months and you can cancel free of charge or cancel early and it's $10. I always tell people take it now then cancel it tomorrow. Save yourself $35 lol

Thanks everyone for their response. My main question, whether or not do the monthly maintenance contract, has been answered. I am sticking to doing my own troubleshooting.
I finally did install the 5LNB with the SWN-16. It works perfect. All receivers came up the first time except for the one I am having trouble with video. I'm still fussing with it and I will get it back up. Now I have 5 HD DVRs. A couple of pictures, not the best looking setup, but I didn't want to cut cables in case the setup changes again. Thanks again, Gary

Not bad! However, them look like older 4 way splitters, I'd throw 2 eight ways on there and call it a day! Really nic for doing it yourself though. It's done right, with I could get a service call at your house

As indicated in my first paragraph, I was having video problems with a HR-20. I could see the guide, menu and setup, but the channel would not show up. Called Directv tech and after about 1.5 hours, they wanted to send a tech. I didn't want to pay for it, so I decided to troubleshoot myself. I was pretty sure it wasn't the cables, but I changed the DVR out for another one and sure enough it came right up. So, it had to be the HR-20. It acted like it was the tuner. Took it apart and didn't see anything obvious. On a hunch, I decided to change the harddrive. Bought a WB 1 terabyte SATA drive. Put it in and it works better than new. Faster and, of course, more storage. Go figure why the harddrive gave such indications.
