    Bad LNB or DVR?

    ADVERTS 1
    New Poster
Just started experiencing what appears to be a problem like rain fade with brief periods of pixelation and loss of picture or the picture breaks up. This can occur at the top of the picture, middle or bottom. I do not lose the entire picture and it occurs randomly. It only appears on the HD DVR receiver and do not have this problem with any other non HD and DVR receivers. I have checked all connections in the house and to the receiver. Coud it e a receiver issue or does it appear it may be an LNB issue? I have no way to check the actual dish as i is mounted on the top of the roof at this point too dangerous to climb on.(Dish has no snow or ice on it) I have had D* since 1994 with no problems and I did not even know about a service contract since it was never offered.
    Thanks
    Wisc

Looks like its the numbers are a little low, you have bbc's? Could have 1 going bad. They're the things that hang from the back. The coax goes into them and they go to the sat in spots

Is it a swm or non-swm system?

If is a swm system, it will have only one satellite cable connected to the receiver and no b band converter.

If it is a non-swm setup, it will have two cables connected to the receiver and have a b band converter connected on each of the sat cables.
