for $99 i'd pull the trigger almost instantly, for $399 i'll probably never get one, here's to hoping it's out for everyone soon.

here is the sweet deal i got about 30 mins ago, i was a returning customer and asked them if i qualify for the hr34 and no extra receivers, because all i need is the ability to record 5 programs at once, 6 programs at once with the on demand stuff, so she asked me if i had a smartv and i do so i told her yes you qualify why she asked i have no clue? she game me the rebate of 300.00 off price of 399.00 for a total of 99.00 for the hr34, gave me 3 months free of hbo sho, starz and cinemax then on top of that gave me, the ultimate package which i wanted, for a 2 yr locked in price of 30.00 per month for the first year, then 16.00 off for the second year, and if i set up auto pay i get free hd service for life, so the only charge that came to my card today was 19.95 plus tax for shipping and handling, they are coming between 8am-12pm tomorrow for the install i would imagine they wont charge me the 99.00 for the hr34 until it is activated, thanks for welcoming me back dtv as a returning customer.

aaa? raf? discounts what is that? i have not been charged for the hr34 on my card yet, just the shipping and handling fee plus tax was the only thing taken out after i placed the order, i didnt ask for any discounts she just asked what programming package i wanted then she came back with the discounts to my account, and she even gave me a confirmation number after i placed the order. told me when it would be installed and ask me what time frame i wanted and that was it.

I have the old Choice Extra + Hd DVR package, so $7 DVR fee is included. I have 2 HR 20's. Am a customer since 2007.
If I replace one with the HR 34, then do I need the 2nd HR 20 or can I get by with a H20 receiver only?
How will it affect the DVR fee ($7) and the Leased Receiver fee ($6) if I replace the HR 20 with an H20 and the other HR 20 with the HR 34?
Will the $7 fee go up to $20 (or is that just for new customers) for the HR 34?
What happens to the $6 fee?

all i can say is i love the hr34, it is just worth it to have the ability to record 5 programs at once no more recording conflicts to deal with, actually 6 recordings at once can be done if you record dtv on demand, the music etc. works well from my computer to stream to the hr34 we have you tube also, now all we need is the new high def guide, no problems here with it just got it yesterday, all they did was put a new lnb on my slimeline dish, and one cable going to a powered thing, and one cable going out to the dvr, dont need no extra receivers with the ability to record 6 programs at once, believe it or not, i even got hbo show starz and cinemax free for 3 months, the hd extra pack free for 3 months, and they even gave me 30.00 off a month on my program package for a year, then 16.00 off the second year of my package, and all it cost me was shipping and handling of 19.95 plus tax, if anyone doubts my word on the cost, pm me and i will copy and paste my order when i first called them up from my emails saved, i am one happy camper now

DVR is now $8
extra receiver fee is $6
so if you went with JUST the HR34 and removed the 2 HR20's its $8 DVR fee...no extra fee
if you have 2 receivers on the account its a $6 fee
That $20 fee thingy is just HD fee, DVR and MRV all rolled into one fee. I posted that in another thread where I selected the HR34 and 2 receivers in a dummy order. It showed $20 fee but then a $10 "HD credit" and 3 $6 equipment charges with a $6 credit (since 1st one is free)Winegard 76cm dish, SG2100 motor, Sadoun dual KU LNB..... Directv Slimline SWM 3 LNB.... GeoSatPro 36" dish with Sadoun dual KU LNB... Coolsat 5000 on motorized.... Manhattan RS1933....Directv HR34 (yes the 5 tuner monster) GeoSatPro 200 to aim dishes.... few receivers not set up yet
