HR21 download update question

I recently purchased an HR21 and was in the process of hooking it up when it powered on. My TV was not on and I am afraid I shut off the DVR when it was doing automatic updates. Since then, I have problems with delays switching channels and not recording first run only shows.
Is there a way to reset my hard drive and redo the updates? I am assuming this is my problem. I did the red button reset but still had the same problems. Any help would be appreciated for a new member.
