    r-15 vs r16

    ADVERTS 1
I received 2 DVRs recently. One is an R-15 and the other is an R-16. The R-16 is much slower using the menu system than the R-15.

While the R-15 feels immediate when going through the menus, the R-16 can take up to 3 or 4 sec for each "click".

    Is this normal?

Suggest you do a Reformat on the R16.Go into System Info/Go to Reset/Reset Everything/when you see the blue screen press the Down Arrow and Record Button on the R16(at the same time) for 15 seconds then release/The record light should come on then go out.
This should make your new software your original software. This will also make you lose your recordings/Favorites Lists/Parental settings. You will have to resetup your R16,but it should speed it up.If not and it bothers you call DirecTV for a replacement.Hopefully they will send you an R22.Good Luck!

Thanks, I will give that a try. But a new R22 would be nice...
