Need some help with my DirecTV

    ADVERTS 1
    Hi,
I'm new to this site, but long time forum goer. Obviously by the name I knew I was dealing with some guys that could help me with my problem. We are remodeling our room downstairs which means taking out the cable box. It is a samsung SIR-S40-40R TiVo DVR box. It has 2 inputs for satellite, and we used both. It worked fine for years in our room. The satellite dish IS CORRECTLY POINTED, because it worked when we took it out. We had a splitter on the RF output on the box before we took it out so our son could watch TV in his room (whatever was on the box downstairs). So during the construction we decided to move the box into his room. I made sure I had the right cable to his room and from the satellite. I hooked one ofthe coaxial cables from the satellite to the one going to my sons room, thinking that the satellite will just go to the box. Well, it isn't working. I took out all the splitters in the main line to his room and replaced them with coaxial connectors. I tried both cables, all transponders, all satellites and it isn't working. Can you please help me?

Your absolutley certian there are no other splitters in the line going to your son's room? and that the line is going to the Sat In spot on the back of they box.

What do you get on the TV ?
    Picture, no picture ?
Are you getting the D* banner ?
What connections are you trying to use in you sons room ?

If I come across something like this, I usually take one peice of coax and lay it in the room and run from one to the other,,this eliminates the possibility that there are other items that may be in the walls, just to make sure.
