vacation usage

I live in southern PA and will soon be taking a month vacation in the Carolina's. Is it OK to take my standard direct tv receiver along and will I get my local channels from here in PA? I have been told they will not be able to be received? Thanks MIke

Your locals are on spot beams and cannot be received in the Carolina's.

The rest of your programming will work fine though, provided you take a dish and set it up too.
