    Pensacola FL install help

    ADVERTS 1
I am traveling to Pensacola, FL to visit my in-laws in a few weeks. My father in-law wants me to "help" him install DirecTV (he doesn't trust installers). I installed his DishNet years ago.
    Here are my questions....

I have a SWM 3 lnb slimline dish.
    8 port SWM splitter.
    H21 receiver.

Will this set-up work in the Pennsacola market?

    I'm not familiar w/DirecTVs satellite locations/geographical availability.

    Thanks in advance!

You can check GCT's charts to see where the sd locals are. Other than the sd locals if they are on 119, you will get all of the channels with an SL3.

Actually - he's not reaterested in locals. His main priority is being able to subscribe to MLB Extra Innings. He will have his locals on DishNet.

You can get HiDef locals (Big 4).. But not the rest of the sd locals.. they are on 119 sat here. But you should be good to go for everything else.

Excellent! Everything minus the locals is fine.

If he's only going to have one receiver and it's not even a DVR than SWM is kind of a waste of money.

I agree. But, he already bought the equipment. At least he will be futureproof for a while

Can someone tell me what sats I need to lock in the Pensacola market?

Also, is there any SWM installation docs available?

unless you want locals, and I'm led to believe you don't, you dont need sat's for Pensacola market, just for national. I'm not sure where MLB comes from, but my receiver uses sat's at 101 deg., 110, 119, 99, and 103 degrees.

Does the SWM lnb need to be powered when tuning?
