Nine new HD PPV Channels?

I'd like to see E* offer a Netflix-type of deal on HD PPV. Instead of $4.99/movie, maybe something like $19.99/month for unlimited HD PPV. Or even some kind of discounted arrangement, like $15.99 for 5 HD PPVs.

It seems to me that this could generate more revenue for E*. You entice people into buying packages that they rarely use up, like cell phone minutes.

I almost never buy a PPV, but would be tempted to buy a $19.99/month unlimited PPV package, especially if the movies were shown in OAR.

Take on NetFlix at their own game. with faster customer gratification.

the picture is so superior on HDDVD compared to any E* or D* or whoever It would have to be almost free for me to give up netflix at about $15 a month for as many as I can watch. It is so damn clear on HDDVD. IMHO more National HD with a big splash adding maybe 5 more channels including CNNHD & BTNHD for sure with 4 or 5 more HDPPV would make more sense. Gets E8 positive PR and can have a broader appeal with diversified use of bandwith.

That would never happen. HBO, Showtime, and Starz would go ballistic.

I am rather dissapointed actually, this is less bandwidth for 24/7 HD channels.

For me it is absolute waste of HD bandwidth. Never ever watched PPVHD at such price. And of course they will share these channels with RSN HD. NHL HD is actually already RSN HD, only opened for people who pay for it.
So, I am not exited and not interested.
Bring some real HD channels, like new Starz, HBO, TMC, etc. Or Big10 HD. Then I will be exited and interested.

Dish gets $100.00 plus a month from me. Lets keep adding more HD channels to the HD subscriber lineup.

Come on DirecTV, show us Dish loyalist what you've got.
