DishComm and VIP 211

Does Dishcomm work with the 211? I have a 622 downstairs with a phone line connected and a 211 without phoneline connected in the bedroom.I Would like to have caller ID on the 211. Thanks.

No, the 211s do not have the software yet for Dishcomm.

I have the exact same situation and I really wish they would add that capability. They probably will immediately after I have them run a phone line to the room with the 211.

EDIT: I want it to keep the audit nazis away.

No ethernet either yet for the 211 I'm guessing. Didn't Dishcomm and active ethernet come with the same software rev on the 622/722?

Dishcomm came a few versions before L4.41 on the 622s but you're right the 211's ethernet port is still disabled.

Any problem in hooking up the ethernet port to a switch now, even though its not activated--just so it's ready 'when the time comes'?

I ordered a bunch of patch cables recently and was wiring up my 622s, so I thought I'd just do the same w/ the 211 for that "rainy day" and be done w/ it.

Won't cause any problems, just won't do anything yet.
