Uplinking SciFi-HD has worked perfectly now that I think about it.

E* subs are given a measure of hope that it will be turned "soon" and thus they are less likely to go to another provider.

In reality E* has not plans to turn it on "soon" or otherwise....

Well, that's just plain unfortunate. I was hoping E* would pull it off. Well, guess I'm off to order D*

Actually, with the promos, for the first year it's only going to be about $10 more than that for their "one step under the top" package. actually saves me over 30 a month for the first year and about 15 a month for the second.

I'm also pretty sure the HD only package will at some point exclude the newer channels. Otherwise when EVERYTHING is HD, you'll have people with AT250 for 34.99.

I spend around $100 bucks a month and am pretty sure I can get something equivalent WITH scifi HD at D*. My contract is holding me hostage, but that is up before the end of the year and I won't be hanging around to see what E* does without another SAT to stay up with D* for HD.

For those that say the loss of AMC-14 didn't change Dish's plans I am starting to believe you.. it appears E* has no plans to add additional HD (except in some undisclosed future date called "soon") so I agree the SAT loss doesn't seem to matter...
