Sign Up Question
ADVERTS
A friend of mine recently signed up for e* (last week it was installed). He decided to not sign a contract, and paid the fifty dollars. That was for the activation fee, right? Because he got his first bill (for two months of service, like it should be) and it had a $49.99 activation fee on it
. Is this right? I thought that those who signed a contract didn't have to pay a sign up fee

yup, if you accept the 24 month contract then there is no activation fee, but if you cancel there will be a cancellation fee. If you pay the $50 activation fee you can cancel anytime.

so you are saying he paid the activation fee twice? once to the installer and then they charged it on the bill as well?

No, I think Dish shows the amount on the bill along with the payment listed. The charge is a part of the account.
