VOOM Goes BOOM - update Dish Drops all 15 VOOM Channels

Wow, bummer... talk about sneaky... I'm glad MonstersHD and KungFuHD made it. If they retuned KungFuHD to like... AsianCinemaHD and showed all the Hong Kong, Korean & Japanese movies in original language with subtitles, that would be the coolest thing ever.

I know they kind of do the same thing right now, but they would have so many movies and so many genres to cover, they'd practically have an endless supply of content to go through!

Hey, I know there are international channels, but most of those don't have English subtitles, and I NEED my English subtitles!

im just surprised that they got rid of the new voom channel.

i was so tempted to go back to HD ultimate because of the other channels + voom but now im not thinking about that anymore.

Why the &^%@# must they toy with our emotions? I've been looking forward to GameplayHD (I know, no one agrees with me) for two months, and now that my new TV is within 200 miles of my house, pffft, out the window.

I have been maintaining my own chart of DirecTV vs Dish (ignoring all the RSNs), and I was soooo excited this morning that Dish finally pulled ahead of Dish in HD content by 6 channels or so. Now, of course, Dish is back down under DirecTV by two channels. If your counts don't match mine, that's not the point. The point is that Dish can't even seem to get a good day right.

Today, they killed all the individual character that was Dish. Time to reevaluate (for the first time in two months) if DirecTV might not be a better choice.

Now we know why the Voom Channels did not get map-downs to the 300 range.

Hopefully the Voom channels that *are* left (Equator, Rave, etc.) *will* get mapdowns to the 300 range.

If you compare the new HD Essential package to new HD Ultimate on the Dish website, you'll see that they've moved things around. Ultimate still has 10 more channels than the Essential package.

What looks like a real good deal now is the HD only package. You get ALL of the HD channels for just $29.99. I hardly ever watch the SD channels in my 100 package, so I'm paying extra for channels I don't watch.

I'm really upset that they dropped gameplay hd. That channel had new programmaing every Fri and Sat for cinemaddics and raw play. At least every week. So many good game walkthroughs. Plus, if you didn't want to play the game, you could watch the whole thing on raw play. So many good games I never seen until I watched the show. Yes, it was a LOT of 3 hour repeats, but when something new came on it was worth watching, especially the tourneys. Hope that dish will bring that one back. Now if G4 went HD, that would be different.

Where do they get 95 channels? I only count a little over 50 in my guide. Oops, I forgot to count all the HD ALT channels I have locked out. Dish math, go figure.
