I wasn't referring to DirecTV. They still have the best HD lineup by far.

I understand, but it's also an unfortunate side effect to lose programming distinction against your competitor. This is something I believe thats really going to hurt Dish.

Clearly Dish is now focusing on hardware.
I also believe they have the best hardware line.

Obviously I'm not a fan of the Voom channels. I even had the Voom satellite service for about 8 months before they pulled the plug, and I didn't watch the Voom channels much back then either. Voom would have been kick-ass if they squeezed it down to about 4 or 5 channels (for example, two for movies, one for fine arts/fashion/concerts, one for news, and one for sports).

Honestly I think that might be the best compromise.

A lot if people think that a stretched SD image is HD.

They want "1080i" because they want to "keep up with the Joneses". They want anything that other people want.

Charlie says that today we have 81 national HD channels and by the end of the year they will have more the 100 national HD channels.

    This is such a joke........
The word "National" would indicate anyone in the Nation would be able to view these channels....
    I get 1 RSN.....
Why not just add up all the HD Locals and tell me Dish has 287 or whatever it is National HD channels.....

Big Ten Network is national. I have it on the sports pack and I am not in a Big Ten state.
