Is VCR Plus something that would work with this? Sorry, I'm about 10 years obsolete on electronics stuff.

Two questions come to mind that you didn't cover.
How fast does the guide populate? Was it fully populated 10 minutes after hooking it up.
Also, I assume on the analog pass-thru, that only works if you use the coax connection to hook it to your TV.

Proud Staff MemberThe guide (for the most part) was populated just seconds after it came on.
Yes the pass through only works on the coax connection.
