They stated that the HD Only pack customers will still have that pack after the 1st. It was not clear, however, if new HD channels would be included in that pack. I came away with the impression no more channels would be included. Nothing was mentioned about it, but it just seemed to me that they wanted to say it. Just an impression that I got.

And that IS the Action Max logo...

And Darren, Encore HD is launching the middle of this month.
    Good catch on starz!

    Sorry, you are right.
I did see it, but it was so uninformative, I hoped for more.

I think HD Only subs will continue to get new channels but as of Aug 1st, those who wish to sub to an HD Only package will have to decide what level they want. Eventually, HD Only will go away, if they ever remember that it exists.

    I'm confused.....

I have AEP right now as well as the top tier HD pak (platinum, ultimate, whatever they call it these days.....)

If I want the new channels do I automatically get them, or do I have to sign up for the new pak. Will it be the same price or more than I pay now?
    Are we there yet?

Dish HD has exactly 40 HD channels today (if you count Golf/Versus as only one channel, and dont count the PPVs). TurboHD Gold says it will have 40 channels, so to add the 4 they're adding on 8/1 (2 Lifetimes, Planet Green and CSB Sports), doesnt it HAVE to imply we're losing 4 current channels? That seems odd...

I also find it hard to imagine that TurboHD Gold isnt going to include all available (non-premium) HD channels, which would be 44 as of 8/1, so something is up here...

Either Dish cant add (as is often the case), or some channels may be available in Silver, and not in Gold, and vice versa. Strange...

I agree.... I want to know what each package includes and what channels are missing from each pack etc.

And the prices really are not going up THAT much.

Right now I got 30 HD Pack + 5 for locals + DVR fee of 7... plus lease fee so thats 42+ right there...

They are just bundling the prices together to make things simpler for the consumer. If you add up all the nickels and dimes into one flat rate then people wont notice you are still nickel and diming them to death.

Oh and there has been an HD mystery pack in the 5000 range for a while now... I think we have our answer as to what it is.

Sorry for condensing just the good bits...
But, we all KNOW Dish can't add. -
