Is there any live content that will be 1080p?
I was assuming that if it's only VOD that is 1080p, that's easy to do. You merely download the 1080p movie data at a slower-than-realtime to your hard disk. This is how they populate the VOD right now--the data streams down whenever one or both tuners isn't busy viewing or recording something--it changes over to the VOD stream transponders and spools the data until it gets the whole thing.

I'm curious if there is anything LIVE that is 1080p.

Nobody in the US is currently broadcasting anything live above 1080i.
