Why NO Chiller preview for Halloween?

Was anyone else hoping Dish would preview Chiller(since they took away MonstersHD) if only for Halloween.Bad move not offering it during October.

Its too bad they dropped a true Halloween channel. Monsters HD. Perhaps one day when one satellite will carry all TV channels we will get our Voom channels back. Till then I challenge Dish and Directv to offer 100% channels a la carte. Pay per channels and or channel sets like HBO, you choose what you want.

I am not sure that Chiller HD has been launched yet. It was announced months ago, but I have not seen anything lately nor have I have heard that the launch went through. If it is available, I don't know why Dish hasn't gotten it up yet, if it is indeed not available then you cannot blame Dish for not having it.

What are you talking about? Chiller is channel 199.

If you mean Chiller HD, it doesn't exist, and probably won't, now that Sci-Fi channel took over Chiller about 2 months ago. They stopped saying "ChillerHD coming by Halloween" in like February.

I think the OP is asking why Dish isn't using Chiller as one of it's "free preview" channels this month. In case you didn't know, Dish picks two channels each month from AT200 or higher packages and opens them up for all subs as a free preview. You can see what channels Dish picked for this month on channel 102.

I think you misread my post,What I was meaning was why didnt Chiller come in October as one of the preview channels.I dont care if its only in SD,it would of been just fine .

A free preview of a horror channel during peak horror season, October, doesn't make business sense to me.

A free preview in Sept to introduce the channel to those that didn't know about it in conjunction with a marketing campaign leading up to Halloween would have made sense but I don't run Dish....

A free preview of a horror channel in October makes all the business sense in the world. (I have an MBA from an Ivy League school)

Give it away for the one month when it's in demand, and tons of lemmings will automatically reflexively upgrade their package.

What did Dish lose? Nothing. What did they gain? Lots of long-term commitments. This is the essence of promotion, grasshopper.
