If I understand correctly, the problem people are complaining about stems from already having an HD installation aimed at the 129-degree satellite and then Dish putting their HD locals on the 61.5-degree satellite. When they call Dish to get a new dish installed, Dish turns off their SD locals because they can't write a work order to install a dish for locals when they already have locals. Yes, it sounds beyond absurd, which is why I say that Dish's database system is crap.

on the snowbird policy- will they install the dish at the vacation property- so they can move receivers back and forth.

my in laws are about to drop dish because they don't have equipment at their vacation home. This snowbird policy may change their mind if they can move it back and forth.

Man how screwed up is that? Don't these guys think about things before they do things?
    That's stupid.
Just use a Dish 500 pointed to 110/119, and a Dish 1000.4 pointed to 61.5/72/77 with 72 left disconnected.

That's why I'll be doing my own upgrade to get 77 (if Dish would only send me the damn cards. I called to ask for the new cards, and was told I wasn't on the rollout list yet, and they couldn't speed mine up, even if I was now in an Eastern Arc market. He actually said they would show up soon enough anyway )

    Would 2 dishes work?
    Dish 500 pointed at 61.5 ,
and one dish 500 pointed at 72.5 and 77?
    What about that?
Could something like that work if a customer didn't want to buy a 1000.4 yet?
I was going to try just to see, But I wouldn't know what to set dual LNB dish at? I heve the 1000.4 But a friend wanted to see if he could do it with 2 dish 500. I didn't know what to tell him.

A 500 will not work for 72.5 & 77, the spacing from the lnb's is closer together. Pretty much have to use a 1000.4 to get both 72.5 & 77 on a single dish.

Yes call up and request a DishMover, when on the call let the CSR know your a Snowbird and they will setup your account accordingly and install the second dish at your second residence.

I've gotten the new cards and installed them. Is there any way I can access 61.5 and 77 at the same time? I've currently got two dishes to access 119/110 and 61.5
