how does Slingbox and SlingClient work?

I was told it was for multi room viewing without more receivers? I dont see how but I am hoping someone here will know. I have the 622 now, and am interested in Slingbox but read that if you are viewing something on your laptop, whoever is in front of the main tv would have to watch the same thing? I would think they would have a way to transfer to pc like tivo does. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

SlingCATCHER is a separate box that hooks up to another TV (includes a remote) and allows you to stream content from your slingbox to your TV. SlingPLAYER is software that allows you to stream content to your PC or Windows mobile device from the Slingbox. SlingBOX is the device that is box that video is inputted thru and sent to the internet or over a home network. There is also slingPROJECTOR which is software that allows you to stream full screen internet media like youtube, hulu and Netflix streaming from your computer to your SlingCATCHER box. If you are not using the 2nd tuner in your 622, you can watch a different show with tuner 2 on the slingplayer than what is currently being watched on tuner 1 on your 622. You can only stream from an input that is connected to your SlingBOX.
In a nutshell you need:
1) a SlingBOX to watch media that is plugged into, a DVR/Satellite receiver, DVD player streamed over the internet or a home network via another PC
2) a SlingCATCHER to watch media streamed over the internet or home network via the SlingBOX on a TV
3) a SlingPLAYER which is the software to watch streamed media on your PC
4) a SlingPROJECTOR which is software to watch internet media like youtube, hulu etc. on a TV

so you can only stream, not transfer to pc for later watching? thanks for the info.. i would like it if multiple pcs could access it like tivo does..
