Well, actually the article was wrong to mention cable. He lost his OTA locals after the DTV transition and couldn't get his converter box to work.

My local news aired this and used the correct info. When I went to the other stations website, I didn't notice that the article didn't match with what both stations aired!

A 70-year-old man who was angry about the shut-off of his cable-TV service -- some stories say he couldn't get his DTV converter to work -- shot his television set Wednesday afternoon and then prompted a two-hour standoff with cops before leaving his house and surrendering.
