dvr upgrade to hd?

figured I would be better off asking here before calling dish about this...

I have a 622 and a 522 and just upgraded the TV on the 522 to hd, is there a way to get the 522 upgraded to a 622 or 7xx hd dvr without renewing contract or paying an arm and a leg?


...I should have mentioned I'm on the hd only package, the old one, so don't want to make any programming changes

If you don't want to entend your contract, about the only thing you can do is buy one off eBay or elsewhere.

yeah, dish said I'm eligible for an updade to a 722 for $125 but that requires a 24month contract, ouch

seems like it would be worth it to pay double that somewhere without a contract...if I can find one that is

they are going for about $350 on ebay (the 722k) does that seem about right?

are we allowed to buy these and add them to our account?

thx, I see some of them say I need to call dish to verify the R and S numbers, does that need to be done? do you just call customer service and ask them if they can check if the numbers are valid?
