My system was a Dish installed, so it is grounded.

False statement! A true statement would be "My system was Dish installed, so it may be grounded." lol

I am having the same problem with my 722 but the constant rebooting only takes place when I am on a certain channel at a certain time. For me its whenever I am on our local HD ABC channel,it never fails to constantly (2 or 3 times)reboot during program.I hardly ever get to see a program on ABC from begginning to end.Anyone have a clue to whats going on.At first I thought it might be an over heating issue ,but I moved my receiver and it now has alot of open space around it,I have also set up a small fan ,unit is rarely hot.,like it used to be in cabinet.

as a dish tech i have seen this problem happen on a brand new, straight out of the box 722k, and also on reman 722 right out of the box.

Well, it looks like the grounding block has wires coming out of it that attach to my water pipes. I think that's being grounded.

It's now Sat morning and it hasn't done an auto reboot yet. However, when I turned on the 722 this am, all I got was a black screen on both locals and Dish. I could bring up the guide, but no picture/sound. Did a manual reboot and the picture came back

IF 722 resets itself 3 times in a week, tech support assured me "they will replace it.
They will ship you a new DVR."
My 722 started to reset, then the tuner for local stations failed. I got a new 722 that works perfectly.

Well, it's now June 1 and I've had no more auto reboots. Keeping my fingers crossed that somehow pressing the power switch 10 times while the 722 was unplugged did something positive.

Had to call DISH teck on another subject so I asked the CSR what the unplugged 10 pushes of the power button did. He told that it does a factory reset.
