TiVo files a motion for contempt, alleging the order to disable wasn't followed.
DISH/SATS files an opposition brief, stating they followed the order and developed non-infringing technology.
TiVo responds that the new technology doesn't apply to the disable order, and even the new technology can be found as an infringement, which would be another violation of the order.

Judge Folsom wrapped it all up into one judgment, as all requests came from the same motion for contempt.

yeah I guess Dish is awful. Tivo however is the best designed interface, menus, and remote of any DVR. But there really is only one important feature to me. I can transfer ALL recordings from my TivoHD to my PC for storage, burning, editing etc. Try that with your pizza pan services. I guess you can with an R5000mod or inferior component cable recording.

That is another one where the judge's argument falls flat on its own face. His sanction proceeding may seriously disturb the appeals court's schedule, undermine the appeals court's goal to expedite the appeal.

Judging by how slow Judge Folsom had been, it may take a while for him to make a ruling on the sanctions after the 7/28 hearing, then parties may appeal, then the appeals court will order briefings and responses, by the time those things are done we will be in November at the earliest. Very likely the original appeals court's expedited schedule will be out of the window by then.

BTW, The Tivo interface is going to look beautiful in a few months. I mean, georgeous!

And I LOVE THE REMOTE. The original Peanut. If it is so bad, how come Harmony and most others now make Peanut remotes? You must hate all of them then. You must love the old square 1980's type remote, BOXY and big. Mmmmmmm
I agree the remote rocks. Even the feel of it and frankly I could give a rats A@@ what the menus look like. its fast and thats all that matters. try a D* CE update, you can go take a crap between guide scrolls.

have made mention of that meeting and the prototype. I guess among other redefinitions "urban legend" can be included.

If this were true you'd be on-topic Actually, I cannot blame the mods for something they can't control.

On-Topic: Judge Folsom denied DISH/SATS request to stay the contempt sanctions process. It will proceed, so that any awarded sanctions can also be stayed and appealed for review to the Court of Appeals.
You know what an urban legend is, right?

Oh, I have a solution for that, but am refraining myself. I figure if you all get this out of your system every couple of weeks, we can handle it.

Shape? Who cares about the shape? I am talking about the buttons on the remote and where they are located. Few shortcut buttons and buttons located in the stupidest places. What idiot thought of placing the TV power button nowhere near the other power buttons?

I guess we have to agree to disagree on this point. I have never seen a more complicated interface to navigate in order to do the simplest tasks than that of the TiVo.

I rather have a few fractions of a second delay to get to a menu or an item than having to navigate through 10 subfolders to get to the same item. Nothing is simple on the TiVo, not even turning the thing off with the remote.
