Haha I just had a conversation with their Twitter the other day asking about AMC HD. They said they'd pass it along to the right people.
I totally believe they'll do it

Why didn't Dish just rename these to "with DVR and locals" instead of just "with DVR"?
This is about as brilliant of an idea as that DuoDVR crap they came up with a few months back.

OK, quick question for everybody, then. I currently have DishDVR Advantage Classic Silver 200 w/ teh "4 Premium package" line item on my bill. I pay 57.99 for the Classic Silver 200 and $40 even for the "4 Premium package" (which BTW, consists of Gold HD, Plat HD, HBO and Classic Gold 250 Bonus Pack). If I understand this new pricing scheme, I can change my packages to get the new "Gold+Plat HD" package for $10 even, but then I would have to pay full price for the HBO package, right? Which means that my savings would = (Full price for HBO) - $10, right?

From a Sales stand point, these are welcomed changes....
#1 Customers don't know what "DVR Advantage" means, so "With DVR" would be more accecpted with people.
#2 The AT250 Bonus pack was confusing to alot of people, I can't tell you how many calls I got back from customers who subscribed to AT250 call me and say I put the wrong package on their account when AT250 was listed as a bonus pack.
#3 Although the Discounts where "Nice" for counting the HD and Top 250 as a premimum package, all the sales people including myself never understood the discounts correctly, and would actually quote the prices out to customers without the discounts so there there would be no chance we would quote the prices incorrectly. When you quote prices to the customer, if you screw up and quote a higher price and the price is actually lower then the customer won't say a word. If you screw up and its a few dollars higher, then the customer calls back and raises hell saying you lied to them.
#4 Also alot of customers would get confused when the billing read "4 premimum packages" and I would always get customers calling as to why they where being billed for 4 movie packages, and then had to explain to them that HD and AT250 counted as 2 of them.

That was my reading as well. They are eliminating "premiums" outside of the actual premium packages which makes sense and will make them more money. We are just losing more of our perks. DDA used to be a great deal. Now, not so much. E* will be identical to D* before long. Bummer.

Any more details forthcoming on new customer offers? Will the TurboHD packages still be available come August 1? If so, will they qualify for the $15 X 12 monthly credit? Will the activation fee waiver remain? Thanks!

I am getting ever closer to just doing away with Dish and going download/OTA only - as a 14yr subscriber that is saying something.
