ADVERTS
Time and time again Dish is proving that they have absolute lack of professionalism.
I have never seen a company that makes so many changes that directly alters their revenue structure.

OK, I'll admit it. I'm confused.
OK, I have DVR Advantrage Classic Silver for $57.99 plus Classic Gold add-on for $10. That appears to be a name-change only (for me).Classic Gold 250 with DVR $67.99
Huh? I have the $10 add-on, so I get the Gold for $10 and the HD for $10, which on Wednesdays (today) adds up to $20. Are some subs paying $22?Effective August 1, 2009, we will no longer offer the special price of $22.00/mo. for two add-on packages (a premium movie package AND the applicable $10.00/mo. HD add-on package or the Classic Gold 250 Bonus Pack).
So, if I read that right, existing Platinum suck... I mean subscribers can continue to pay $10/mo for these channels. But if they "elect to change their programming", then they'll get it for free?Existing customers subscribing to the PlatinumHD add-on through July 31, 2009 may continue to receive the PlatinumHD add-on package until they elect to change their programming.

I think the other hidden "gem" in this mumbo jumbo is that they are basically taking the "advantage" out of dvrAdvantage. No longer will we get more benefit from subscribing to more premium packages. Further, getting AT250 will now NOT count towards the multi-premium count, nor will DISH HD pack. SOOOOO I am looking at a rather large HIDDEN price increase come Aug 1st, as I subsribe to DVRAdvantage with DishHD pack, AT250 pack, HBO pack, Showtime pack, and Starz pack.

HD + Platinum HD for $10 = Good
Turbo HD + still have to pay for Platinum HD = Bad
No bundling discounts for subscribing to multiple premium channels = BAD!

Just did a quick comparison with my current pricing and what it would be if what I read from this confusing jargon is correct.
About a $12 HIDDEN price increase.Last edited by vtjman; 07-15-2009 at 04:51 PM. Reason: again typo

So judging by the fact that it was mentioned in name, should we assume that Turbo is still a viable package?... And do I still have to pay $10 for platinum?... I am so lost...

Someone who has DVRAdvantage and the 3 premium pack could you please let me know the price of the premium pack? Is it $31?

Good news: Platinum HD is now free.
Bad News: You will be paying more for HBO, Starz, and Showtime if you switch to the Free Platinum program.
Since I don't subscribe to the premiums, it is a good change for me.

I am trying to be nice and not be negative on Dish. Also feel the people in this forum are for the most part above average in tech intelligence. If forum members are having trouble how can regular people understand this? I read it and still can't figure out what is going on. I have the DVRAdvantage, Gold 250, Gold HD. Can't figure if I can get the HD Platinum by simply changing to it. Why does it have to be so difficult??
