    622 - 1080i or 720p?

    ADVERTS 1
    Greetings,

I have a 622 receiver and I just got a new television. The TV has a display function that will show what resolution it is receiving. No matter what channel I put my receiver on, the TV always reports "1080i." I thought some channels (ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, etc) broadcast in 720P. Not a huge deal, but I always thought 720p was best for sports, etc. In the HDTV setup menu, the receiver asks what type of TV you have and the only options are 720p or 1080i. Is there a way to set it up to show the native broadcast resolution? Would it even matter? Just curious. Any ideas? Cheers!

The receivers only put out ONE format... either 1080i or 720p that you select. The receiver will convert the opposite format.

What you're asking for is "native pass-thru". People have been asking for that for as long as the 622 has been out (if not longer).

Well, the receiver is getting old. Do any of the newer ones have that feature?

Not unless the 922 has it.
    The D* HR's have a native setting.
But using it slows down the receiver response even more then it already is.

D* HR's slow that's the first I heard of it.
Some people have to much time on their hands.
