Local HD and Dish Network in Northeast PA
ADVERTS 1
Hello,
I am a new member to SatelliteGuys and also a new Dish Network subscriber. The signal strength for my local HD service is too weak to get local HD channels. I live in Montoursville. Has anyone in the area used a HD antenna to pick up over the air HD broadcasts in the Williamsport/Montoursville area? If so, do you know if an outdoor antenna works better than an indoor (rabbit ear style) one?
Thanks!
Chris

welcome Chris! Welcome to the frustration of HD locals for our area! (I live in Woolrich).
We have a 33 page thread going on this subject. you can see it here.

The simple answer is to go to tvfool.com and see what it suggests you need and what you can get. I cannot get anything over the air.

Thanks
Thanks for the information!
I have heard that Direc TV has the local HD channels. Maybe I heard wrong. Before I signed up, it was my understanding that Dish provided local HD channels. I hate missing my HD football!
I don't know why Dish can't get us local HD. If it continues, I may have to change providers when the time comes.
I will check out the thread.

Yes, Directv has the local HD channels. In the thread I provided, there is some discussion about why we don't get them with Dish.
