ViP222 Universal Remote Codes

I have a ViP222k with two remotes, but would like to use a universal remote with the receiver. None of the Dish/Echostar codes will work the 222k, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any universal devices that will work with my receiver. Have tried a learning remote as well, but can't seem to copy all the functions.

Just out of curiosity, what does your remote do that the Dish remote doesn't? Since the 21.0/20.0 is also a learning remote, have you considered programming it instead? I have an uncommon TV with an even less common DVD recorder, but after 20 minutes of sitting at the kitchen table, my 21.0 runs both flawlessly.

Nearly ALL universal remotes will work with Dish receivers but for many universal remotes the receiver must be set to remote channel one.

Dish Remotes have 16 different channels to communicate with the receiver.

I believe Harmony remotes are able to switch channels, but others cannot.
