ADVERTS
There is NO reason for this receiver to exist if it doesn't have HD on TV2. Anything else, is already possible. I guess I'm behind the times, because this was the one feature I was waiting for this receiver for. When did they make the bone-headed decision to not include it?

The ability to build a "DVR cloud" would fix all of this.
Plug it into the network and boom you've got more recording space and more tuners. It could be done but it would require quite a bit of firmware programming. I've seen some BeyondTV rigs with 5 or 6 tuners that work great, so I know it can be done.
Here's a 10 tuner beast

Are there any photos of the GUI that are more recent then the ones from CES?

Nice. But perhaps outdated since it still mentions the touch pad remote.

I wonder if they will replace the 722 receiver with the 922 eventually or if it will always be a premium?

I believe Charlie said the box is "not for everyone," meaning it will be for some time a premium box for those with broadband connection, a need for the Sling feature, and for power users who love all the bells and whistles as the 922 will have a more expensive upgrade price. I think the 722K will be the "standard" HD DVR for the vast majority of subscribers as it will suit their needs well enough, and it is less expensive to produce. As much as I love and want a 922, I know a lot of people who, after explaining it to them, consider it overkill for their needs and don't want to pay the premium upgrade price. They are fine with they have now, they say.
