The 508 will only output as channels 3 or 4. Use a splitter in reverse to add to the output from the 722.

so if i take the 508 cable output to tv and put a splitter on it , then run it in to the tv wall cable i will get the 508 on either 3 or 4 and the 722 on either 77 for tv1 and 79 for tv 2 from any where in the house. is that correct?

Use the splitter in reverse (works as a combiner that way) joining it with the 722 output. Run that to your distribution hub.

Yep. I have a 508 and two ViP722 DVRs. Not sure it's worth it, though, I suspect in the coming year (whoops, it's here already) the 508 will be phased out. They're trying to move to a smaller (ViP-only?) code base with 8PSK only receivers. And eventually, only receivers capable of MPEG-4.

You need to modulate on a higher channel and then use a filter to clear out the un-used channels on your cable system.
