Yep... I signed up for Dish due to the Absolutely awesome deal of Absolute. When Absolute is gone, do I need to the be connected to the cancellation department? Absolutely!

My limit on TV entertainment for us is around $50 a month...after that it isn't worth it, since we seem to watch HD locals 80% of the time on the DVR.

Come on, Frank! This site will NOT tolerate non-whiners!
Personally, in a better economy, I'd love to upgrade from Absolute to a top tier pac. My 1099's came today & my income for '09 was off by 25% and has really curbed my desire to go higher.EA~1k.5VIP722~VIP211kDA Gold~PlatinumSamsung PN50B450Samsung LN32C350D1DXZAYAHAMA HTR-5920

That's mine two...and the primary reason I switched from D* a little over a year ago to get the cheaper HD-only TurboHD packages that Charlie was pushing. If not for them, I wouldn't be with E*. And yet since I've been with them the TurboHD subscribers have been mistreated over and over -- but I degress. The good news is TurboHD Silver + Locals + DVR is $49.99 (soon to be $50.99) plus tax. It is lacking several channels I would like to have, but the big step up on cost to get them just isn't worth it. Heck, I often question spending $50/month for TV when much of what I watch is from networks channels I also get OTA -- but it's mainly the sports (on the ESPNs and Regional Fox Sports) that keeps me from "cutting the cord" and switching to a HTPC with DVR and OTA tuner.

I have 4 HD-DVR's.. 622's and 722's... 3 additional receivers at $17 each = $41.. up from $21 before... my receiver and loyalty credit is only $11
$41- $11 - $21 +$6 DVR fee = $15 still $15 increase

I'm a little confused by my recent bill. Is there no longer are charge for a leased receivers? I have a single 622. My bill has a $9.00 charge ($2.00 higher than last month) but then two adjustments negating it:
Existing Customer Leased Primary HD Receiver 9.00
Additional Outlet - Adjustment -7.00
Additional Outlet - Adjustment -2.00
What's the deal with that? Could this be because I signed up for the promotion a few months ago that was to give me $10/mo off my bill for 12 months. I have found that Dish has been applying that promotion with some very odd line items on my bill and in fact no promotional adjustments were on my last two bills at all (I think they added a few extra in early months).

I remember reading, in this or other thread, that locals would be included automatically in all packages. I searched this thread and could only find this statement from Scott's first post: "DISH marketing materials will reflect package prices with local network programming included."
I am one of thse people who have only gotten a 2 cent increase. I have Americas Top 250. Does anybody know if new customers are required to get locals and if existing customers will be required to?
I did look at the Dish web site and they say that the regular price for Top 250 is 62.95, $5.00 more than my current price, while the site says that locals are 5.99.
