Do you still need to connect the dual tuner recievers to a phone line?

    ADVERTS 1
So my understanding is with these new price increases the eliminated the $5 charge for not having a phone line connected. Is this correct? So can I unplug my receiver? I'm having to use a splitter on the phone line now for and just wondered if I could get rid of that.

The $5 phoneline fee is not eliminated.

They charge it to everyone now regardless of having your phone line connected or not.

They eliminated the EXEMPTION for the $5 phone line fee if you have your phone line connected to the dual tuner receiver.

At least, you get Caller ID support with the phone lines connected.

You will still need it connected if you want to order PPV without calling in and being charged an extra $5.
Also for those who have VIP receivers and want to access VOD you will still want it.

If none of the above apply..............................disconnect it.

And by the way, come July your additional fee for 2nd,3rd, etc.... dual tuners will be $14, not $10.
